As a fundraising venture we ran a mascot competition to find some mascots for Team Beech Boys Tandem. People were asked to nominate their favourite mascot to be selected to support the team. All the entries were put into the draw on 17th August and we are pleased to announce the two winners to accompany us on Race Around Ireland are:
Borrans Littlest Bear, who hails from High Borrans Outdoor Education Centre near Windermere.
John & Val Whittaker’s mascot from Warrington.
Full details and photos of both mascots will follow soon. They will be travelling with us in the two support vehicles, sitting in on the Race Around Ireland official pre-race briefing, visiting lots of exciting places in Ireland and staying up late every night in order to cheer Beech Boys Tandem on their way! There will be regular updates of their adventures in the daily Beech Boys Tandem blogs. We hope they will get on well with the leprechauns they meet en route! The owners are aware they may even return with an Irish accent!
